Hi friends of rally in the NorthWest.
AROO cup rally #4 will be Sunday, August 24th. It will start a little later (1pm) and end approx 4:45pm at the historic Butteville Store (like last year) for a fabulous BBQ dinner, ice cream and a good time under the tent or inside.
For those that prefer to TOUR, you can do the LONG tour also starting with the rally cars at 1pm at Cook Park in Tigard, or if you prefer an approx 1 hour tour, it will leave from the Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot in Lake Grove (across I-5 from Bridgeport) at 3:30pm and take a more direct, but fun route to Butteville Store on the banks of the Willamette…
Details:
The rally is the final event in our 4 rally series, but all are invited to give it a try! It will be easy to follow, but challenging to stay on perfect time. No getting lost, but a fun time in the car. You are encouraged to give it a try! Open to all, and to any car. Registration is super easy, email Paul and say you are interested in trying. The same goes for the LONG TOUR. You must pre register so we can email out the instructions a day or 2 in advance. Those going on the short tour just need to be at Dick’s by 3:30pm to follow the leader, but you can also pre-register and get a sheet of turn-by-turn instructions emailed to you.
Dinner details:
Similar menu as last year (ask any of the 74 who attended, YUM!) with marinated, BBQ TriTip, grilled chicken thighs, fixins, and homemade ice cream for dessert. Cost is $40 per person. You must reply with a headcount if skipping the rally/tours and just coming at 5pm for the wonderful dinner. (which many did). You pay for your own meals and drinks at the end, just like a restaurant… It was such a good time, and with great cars to see, last time.
We are calling this event the “Solstice Picnic that Never Was in historic Butteville” We see it as a chance for all AROO Club members, all rallyists, and anyone who just likes CARS to come and hang out.
