AlfaBits – August, 2025 – Volume 57, Issue 8
Steve Davis, AROO Prez
Hello All – Happy Summer! I’ve spent the last few weekends at two different and fun
car shows. Forest Grove was pretty darned cool (literally and figuratively!). We had 11
Alfas in our corral. Then yesterday (August 2) I was in Coburg at the annual Coburg
Car Classic. Since it’s just down the road from the house, I brought both the Alfetta GT
and the Spider, and was joined by Bill Stephenson in his beautiful 58 Giulia Spider and
Lila Dale and her Alfetta GT.
Whether the show is full of experience and knowledge of European cars, or full of
American Iron (you pick which is which) the “little Alfas” get more than their share of
love and comments! At Forest Grove, so many people were happy to see our cars, and
many shared stories of an Alfa being their “first sports car” or “my dad’s car that I loved
to be in” or similar. At Coburg, the comments were about how different, cute (Bill’s car
would have won the “cute” award if there was one), sexy, cool or just unusual the cars
were. In a sea of big blocks and Hurst shifters, our cars stood out.
That’s what I love about our cars – they are different and beautiful and unusual and
sexy and… well… just cool. We need to share our cars with more people, so they can
share in the experience of seeing and perhaps one day, owning an Alfa Romeo.
Sooooo – what are you doing to get your Alfa out and seen and driven? Now is the

that day, and everything ends up at the Butteville General Store. We did this last year
and had more than 70 people and 35+ cars. Join us this year! Read all about it HERE.
