AlfaBits – October, 2025

Volume 57, Issue 10
Steve Davis, AROO Prez

As I look out the window at the rain here on the last few days of September, it’s surely a
reminder that fall has arrived!  With it, some important info that I hope you all will read,
plus some reminders, plus some observations… Happy October!

IMPORTANT

AROO Board of Directors  Each year, the AROO Board of Directors has
half of its members up for re-election.  We also ask our membership if anyone would like
to run for Board Membership.  Board members serve a two-year term and can be re-
elected.  Officers (President, Vice President and Treasurer) are elected by the Board
Members.  If you are interested in running for election to the Board, or have any
questions about Board operations, please email me at president@alfaclub.org.  If we
have more candidates than the five openings, elections will be held in late November by
email to the membership and announced at the Holiday Party on December 7 th .  FYI, the
existing Board Members up for re-election this year are: Chris Bright, Frank Filice, Tom
Gammons, Ian Lomax and Jeff Sabatini.

REMINDERS:

Alfa Calendar: We want YOUR photos!  The deadline for submitting photos for the
2026 AROO Members’ Car Calendar is October 19 th !  We have already received some
great photos, and we want more from which to choose.  I’ve seen many of the
submissions so far, and there are glamour shots, racing shots, rusting-in-the-woods
shots, parts/views shots and more…  Our AROO cars are so special – please consider
submitting a favorite photo of yours!  Info can be found HERE on our website!

October General Meeting: Wednesday, October 29 will be a general meeting at Old
Spaghetti Factory (Here for map).  Members enjoyed the “get to know you” meeting that
Steve Hunker MC’d last fall, and we are planning to do it again.  Look for an
announcement later in the month, but circle the date on your calendar NOW!  It will be
fun!

OBSERVATIONS:

We really are “AROO STRONG” right now!  Membership is growing
by 1-2 new members per month.  The event at Bob Piacentini & Bill Daemke's drew
more than 50 people.  The Old Super Tour run by Nic Iaboni had 23 cars (Wow!).
We’ve had great tours, tech sessions, gatherings and more, attended by LOTS of
people.  In short, we are an exciting, thriving car club!  I hope you have attended at least
one, and perhaps more, events in 2025 – I’ve certainly met many people this year.  We
are starting to think about our 2026 event calendar – as always, a combination of
recurring events with some new and diverse ones.
